Ironline Command: Supply Lines for Beginners
The first thing Ironline Command teaches you, usually by punishing you, is that an army is only as good as its supply. I spent my opening missions wondering why my tanks froze mid-map before realising they'd simply run out of fuel.
Every unit draws from supply depots through routes you control. If the route gets long or contested, the flow slows, and units at the far end stop dead. The game shows this with a little pipeline indicator — watch it constantly.
Before any big push, make sure you've secured a forward depot. Advancing faster than your supply can follow is the single most common way to lose. Slow, well-supplied pressure beats a fast, starving blitz almost every time.
On busier maps, I genuinely recommend a tablet. The touch controls are fine, but rerouting convoys under pressure is far easier with more screen. Start on skirmish maps to build the instinct before the campaign leans on it hard.
Once logistics become second nature, the game opens up. You start setting traps by cutting enemy supply instead of fighting head-on, and that's where Ironline really gets its hooks in.
